Brenda studied classical piano for 13 years and then taught herself to play the guitar. She started by plucking out Indigo Girls and Joni Mitchell tunes by ear and quickly began writing her own material. Countless open-mics and cafe gigs later, Brenda produced her first album, Another Autumn Day. A number of songs from that work made it into the soundtrack of the television drama Jackson Horn, as well as into the City of Seattle’s OnHold program, which plays music by Seattle artists on the city phone system. For a few years, Brenda’s music took a back seat to her career and other diversions, but she started working on a second album, Seven Orchids, in 2009. Seven Orchids features band members Anthony Guess on drums and Steve Feasley on bass.
